Are you in your senior year of high school, starting to wonder what college life is really going to be like? Are you a freshman in college, struggling to make your way, get grounded, and adjust to life away from home? You’re in the right place!

Consider this blog the online complement to the newly released A Girl’s Guide to College–Updated Edition. Here, not only will you find more tips and tricks for surviving college, but also personal anecdotes coming straight from girls like you. This blog will include posts from current college student women who speak fresh from their experiences, and share what they learned from their mistakes–and their successes!

  • Surviving Your Classes. How do I decide what classes to take? Is there a way to avoid spending an arm and a leg on textbooks? Are study groups a good idea?
  • Health and Wellness. What’s all this I hear about the freshman fifteen–should I be afraid of it? How is it possible to juggle classes, a social life, studying–all while staying healthy and getting enough sleep? How do I minimize stress?
  • Social Life. How do I meet people and make friends in college? What sorts of clubs and organizations can I join? What should I expect from the college party scene?
  • Sex and Dating. Does “dating” even exist in college? What do I need to know about “hooking up”? How do I know when I’m in a serious relationship?  
  • Being Independent. How do I do my laundry? I don’t know how to cook–what’s the easiest way to learn? People keep talking to me about “time management”–how do I do that? What do I need to know about managing my own money?
